Health Care for All-Oregon Education Fund (HCAO-EF) was originally named Universal Health Care for Oregon (UHCO). The name was formally changed in April, 2012, and the long-time slate of officers largely changed around then. UHCO was legally incorporated in the State of Oregon on October 16, 2000 and got IRS 501(c)(3) determination in December, 2001.
The purpose of Health Care for All-Oregon (HCAO) from its bylaws is "to strive to ensure that all people in Oregon have access to affordable, quality, and comprehensive health care; particularly those populations who are under served, such as low-income families, members of minority groups, those who are uninsured or under-insured, and those who have difficulty gaining access to health care."
There is no formal link between HCAO-EF and HCAO other than a degree of overlapping board membership. HCAO-EF uses foundation grant funding and tax-deductible donations to fund education and research regarding comprehensive health care reform.
